Valmet Automotive Group issues its seventh Annual Sustainability Report, outlining progress during a year marked by strategic and structural change and evolving markets, while maintaining strong operational performance.

Valmet Automotive Group has two business areas: the Valmet Automotive business area operating in Finland focuses on engineering and manufacturing solutions, and the Roof & Kinematic Systems business area operating in Germany and Poland focuses on convertible roof and kinematic solutions. Consolidated Group report highlights the company’s strategic transition toward a broader industrial role beyond automotive manufacturing, alongside continued development in climate performance, workplace safety and sustainability governance.

“Our focus is on building a resilient and competitive business by combining strong industrial expertise with responsible operations in automotive, defense, and other high-tech industrial sectors. Sustainability is an essential part of how we develop our operations, support our customers and prepare for future industrial opportunities”, says CEO Pasi Rannus.

CONTINUED IMPROVEMENT IN ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE

The report shows that approximately 97% of total energy consumption came from renewable sources. This supported a 94% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions compared to the 2022 baseline and demonstrates continued progress toward science-based climate targets. These results reflect long-term investments in energy efficiency and low-emission operations.

Value chain emissions remain the largest part of the Group’s total footprint, and further work is ongoing to identify practical reduction measures together with suppliers and logistics partners.

Health and safety remained a key operational priority in 2025. Safety performance continued to improve across operations, supported by certified management systems and a proactive safety culture. Reflecting this, Valmet Automotive was awarded the highest rating, Level I – World’s forefront, by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health’s Nolla Tapaturmaa (Vision Zero) Forum for the second consecutive year in Finland.

During the year, continuing challenges in the European automotive industry and market volatility impacted the company and led to restructuring measures. Going forward, the company will focus on stabilizing operations, supporting its employees while implementing its strategy and strengthening position as an advanced manufacturing partner across automotive, defense, and other high-tech industrial sectors.

Looking ahead, Valmet Automotive Group will further enhance its competitiveness by integrating sustainability into its operations and combining advanced manufacturing expertise with the flexibility to respond to evolving customer, regulatory and market requirements.
