Valmet Automotive, a leading service provider for automotive industry, has more than doubled the number of car builders at their plant in Uusikaupunki, Finland within the past 18 months. The total workforce at the plant now numbers over 1500.

While gloomy economic views cast a shadow over export-oriented Finland, Valmet Automotive has championed for employment in manufacturing industry with 4 separate recruitment campaigns, resulting in over 700 new jobs within the last 18 months.

The basis for the expansion is the manufacturing agreement Valmet Automotive signed with Daimler AG concerning the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class in 2012. According to the agreement Valmet Automotive will manufacture over 100,000 A-Class vehicles during 2013–2016.

The rapid expansion at Finland’s only passenger car manufacturing plant has steadily made headlines in the Finnish media. The number of workforce has been increased at pace with the growing production volumes, showcasing the agility and ability of Valmet Automotive as a service provider for its customers.
