Valmet Automotive has now extended its lease at the Bad Friedrichshall site until 2033, thus creating planning security for the further expansion of the battery test center there. The Valmet Automotive Group is a leading European manufacturer of electric vehicle battery systems.

The cooperation between Valmet Automotive and GMV (Gebäude-Management und Verwaltung GmbH) has existed for many years. In the course of the long-standing cooperation, a trustful relationship has developed, emphasize GMV Managing Director Ibro Filan and Stefan Sommer, Site Manager of Valmet Automotive in Bad Friedrichshall, at the signing of the new contract.

In recent years, a number of major projects have been realized in close cooperation, such as the opening of the high-performance Battery Test Center in 2020 and the commissioning of further test benches in Hall 3. The expansion of the warehouse and logistics area is close to completion. The investments at the site now amount to a total of around EUR 15 million, with GMV making a significant contribution to providing the necessary infrastructure.

– Thanks to our trusting cooperation with GMV, we have very good conditions for the further expansion of our test activities in Bad Friedrichshall. With the start of production at our battery plant in Kirchardt, the site is becoming even more important for Valmet Automotive, says Mathias Würges, Vice President Engineering, EV Systems.

On the agenda are further investments to provide the best possible support for product development and series production of battery systems. Bad Friedrichshall is currently Valmet Automotive’s largest site in Germany with 125 employees.
