Patria is preparing for significant future demand in its Protected Mobility business and wanted to secure additional manufacturing capacity for armored vehicles.
The objective is to enable fast production growth through technology transfer and local manufacturing while maintaining the high standards required in the defense industry.
The approach
Valmet Automotive brought decades of high-volume contract manufacturing experience, strong industrial systems, and proven ramp-up capability to the cooperation.
The project moved from kick-off in January to manufacturing launch in May, showing Valmet Automotive’s ability to industrialize complex products at speed and transfer production capabilities efficiently.
At Valmet Automotive’s facility in Uusikaupunki, Finland, production of armored vehicles has already started. The cooperation highlights the company’s ability to adapt existing industrial capabilities to new customer segments, support secure technology transfer, and create additional defense manufacturing capacity in Europe.
