Oguz Halis works in Valmet Automotive’s battery business in Finland. Born in Germany, Oguz grew up and studied in Turkey. He has already had a 20-year career as an engineer and at Valmet Automotive he works in quality, as a Senior Project Quality Engineer.
- Valmet Automotive is a growing and forward-looking company in the battery business, and this inspired me to apply for a job at the company. I wanted to be part of this story and moved to Finland with my family, says Oguz.
Having previously worked in the automotive industry for OEMs such as MAN Truck & Bus and Mahindra Group, Oguz describes his job as managing quality and suppliers in collaboration with customers. Oguz defines himself as a communicative, helpful, and questioning colleague. He particularly likes working face-to-face whenever possible.
- In my free time I like to spend time with my family, especially travelling, I am married and have three children. I also play table tennis in a local hobby group in Salo.
Oguz, with a friendly look in his eyes, says that Valmet Automotive has a positive working atmosphere, colleagues are open, and this creates a good environment for learning and development. The multicultural working environment in different locations and countries are things he values highly. Different people and environments allow you to see things from different perspectives.
Oguz’s motto “keep rolling and always improve” carries him forward in life.
