Valmet Automotive completes list of certificates in Uusikaupunki plant

Valmet Automotive, a leading service provider for the automotive industry, has now certified all the selected focus areas of its operations: quality, occupational health and safety, and environment. The certificates granted by an independent classification society affirm Valmet Automotive's long term engagement in all quality-related issues and consolidate the frame for continued efforts in improvements.

Valmet Automotive has received certificate for the occupational health and safety in the Uusikaupunki plant according to the OHSAS 18001:2007. This completes the previous certificates for quality (ISO/TS 16949:2009, ISO 9001:2008) and environment (ISO 14001:2004) the Uusikaupunki plant has. Furthermore, now all the three areas the company management has selected for certification are completed.

In the automotive industry, certified quality in products and operations is essential. The safety issues are traditionally considered a top priority in Valmet Automotive's corporate and management culture. This is also increasingly appreciated by customers.

"The certificate for occupational health and safety is a great achievement for Valmet Automotive. The whole personnel have participated in this work, and it shows the high level we have achieved in safety. Yet, we always regard the certificates as part of ongoing processes that give us a strong foundation for continuous improvements, in quality, environment and occupational health and safety related issues", says Olli Kerajärvi, Vice President, Quality and Supply Chain Management of Valmet Automotive.
