Appointments: Head of US engineering unit and VP Production in Uusikaupunki

Pasi Rannus to lead the US engineering unit

Valmet Automotive Inc. opens an engineering unit in the USA. The new unit is located in Delaware and led by Mr. Pasi Rannus, who has been responsible for body shop operations at Valmet Automotive in Uusikaupunki, Finland. He reports to SVP Engineering Services, Mr. Heinrich Petra.

The establishment of the unit in the USA derives from Valmet Automotive strategy to enforce the engineering services and operations in North America. The company already has a large network of cooperation partners within the American automotive industry. For instance, Fisker Automotive hosts three Valmet Automotive resident engineers in Irvine, California. 

Robert Blumberg appointed as VP Production 

The manufacturing organization has been reinforced by establishing a new function of a Vice President Production. Mr. Robert Blumberg has been appointed to the position. He reports to Executive VP, Mr. Risto Hukkanen.

Mr. Robert Blumberg moved over to Valmet Automotive from Metso, where he has been managing Metso Paper and Fiber Technology projects in Shanghai, China. Prior to that he worked for a Metso unit in Turku.

Mr. Sami Lindén has been appointed as VP Body Shop taking over the responsibilities of Mr. Rannus. Mr. Sami Lindén has been responsible for the maintenance operations.

Mr. Lindén, Mr. Pasi Lammensalo, VP Final Assembly, Mr. Pekka Virolainen, VP Production Control, and Tomi Arola, VP Procurement and Logistics, report to Mr. Robert Blumberg.

In addition to Mr. Robert Blumberg, VP Quality Mr. Olli Kerajärvi and VP Human Resources (to be appointed) report to Executive VP Mr. Risto Hukkanen.
