Valmet Automotive making Finnish industrial history
Valmet Automotive, the experienced service provider for automotive industry, is making Finnish industrial history with the series production of the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
Valmet Automotive has made the all-time largest industrial robot deal in Finland for the brand new Mercedes-Benz A-Class dedicated body shop. Production will commence in the middle of 2013.
The purposeful, highly automated body shop for the Mercedes-Benz A-Class will have approximately 200 robots installed. Valmet Automotive is the largest robot user in Finland. Adapting the production process to the needs of the A-Class has required investments totaling in tens of millions of Euros, two thirds of the sum spent on the new body shop.
"We have repeatedly proved that we can meet the most challenging schedules for production launch. In the Daimler project, we are again proceeding in record speed. Furthermore, our quality has a top reputation", says Mr. Ilpo Korhonen, President, Valmet Automotive.
The investments in the A-Class body shop show the engagement Valmet Automotive has for its customers, from major OEMs to new start-ups. Refined processes and skillful, dedicated work force are keys to meeting the customer needs, also when the product requires new, unconventional and innovative solutions.
"Valmet Automotive offers all the services automotive customers need, reliably and with world-class quality. Our assets include rapid production launches and flexible responses to the market changes", says Mr. Korhonen.
