Valmet Automotive with the largest ever service portfolio at Geneva Motor Show
The renowned provider of automotive services, Valmet Automotive, presents their newest business line, roof systems, for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1–13, 2011. Another focus area at the Geneva show will be electric vehicles, emphasizing the forthcoming production launch of the Fisker Karma, Electric Vehicle extended range, at Valmet Automotive’s Uusikaupunki plant in Finland.
Valmet Automotive is now one of the three largest manufacturers of car roof systems in the world. The recent acquisition of former Karmann's European convertible roof business is a significant step in the company’s strategy to expand globally and to become a leading service supplier for the automotive industry.
The acquisition is an important addition to Valmet Automotive’s service portfolio, making it a leading provider of automotive engineering, vehicle manufacturing, convertible roof systems and automotive business services. In all four business lines, Valmet Automotive has strengthened the engineering resources and technical in-house capabilities, resulting in several interesting development projects.
Valmet Automotive is a pioneer in series production of electric vehicles. Since 2009, the company has accumulated unique expertise in manufacturing THINK City and Garia golf car. The company’s electric car production is stepping up to a new level with the launch of the production of the Fisker Karma.
At the Geneva Motor Show 2011, Valmet Automotive will be highlighting its expertise in convertible roof systems and electric vehicles. The show pieces of Valmet Automotive stand will include Renault Mégane Coupé Convertible E95, Mercedes E Class convertible A207, THINK City 2+2 seater and the street legal version of Garia golf car.
